Please tell us how you came to work for Gift.

We were able to grow little by little as we gained experience.

When I began my job search, I focused on finding a place where I could grow quickly, a job where I could be involved in the management of people and stores, and a store manager position.

While various industries were losing business due to the onslaught of Corona, I found a company that has continued to improve its performance since its inception. That was Gift.

I felt that the speed of Gift's store development and philosophy matched my way of thinking.

I remember actually going to eat at the restaurant and being very impressed with the quality of the customer service!
The more I learned about the company, the more interested I became, and I decided to apply!

At that time, I heard from a recruiter that there was a job where I could be involved in the opening of new stores, and I decided to join the company because I thought there was an opportunity here for me to grow!

What was it like to be a store manager at Gift?

First in the nation after a frustrating experience in Okayama

For the first year after I joined the company, I was in a department called "Store Opening Planning," which specializes in supporting new store openings.

The managers in charge of the new store were all excellent people, and I was able to learn from them and grow little by little.

After one year of experience setting up 10 new stores, I successfully passed the store manager exam and was assigned as the manager of Machida Shoten's Okayama Hirai store!

I understand that you had some major setbacks in your first experience as a store manager.

Yes, I did. There were so many things that went wrong with my first experience.
I decided to join Gift because I shared its philosophy, and I had a very hard time finding a way to share this philosophy with everyone and work with the same passion.

We have a variety of cast members, including older subordinates, housewives, college students, and high school students.
There were times when everyone in the store almost fell apart because they had different values and ways of thinking and did not communicate as expected. But then, my boss,

The cast members and employees here can only trust and follow Mr. Matsumura.

If Matsumura-san doesn't enjoy doing his job, everyone else won't either!"

I received the words,

No matter how hard it is, I try to enjoy my work more than anyone else!"

With this enthusiasm, the engine was revved up and we were able to bring everyone together.

WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO CONTINUE TO IMPROVE OUR MONTHLY PERFORMANCE RANKING (KPI RANKING) FOR OUR MORE THAN 100 STORES, AND WE WERE TRANSFERRED TO AN EVEN HIGHER SALES STORE. WITH MY EXPERIENCE IN OKAYAMA, I WAS ABLE TO BECOME NO. 1 IN THE NATION THERE AS WELL, AND I AM NOW WORKING AS A STORE MANAGER IN TAIHEIDORI.

Although there are tough times, I am able to spend truly rewarding days facing both customers, cast members, and myself.

Recently, one of my own subordinates became a store manager and was launching a new store in Aichi Prefecture, which made me insanely happy.

Although there are failures, I am able to experience growth through various experiences.

I will continue to work with people around me without forgetting to thank them.

What are your future goals?

NO. 1 IN THE NATION IN PERFORMANCE RANKING (KPI RANKING)

FIRST OF ALL, THE STORE'S GOAL IS TO BE RANKED NO. 1 IN THE NATION IN MONTHLY PERFORMANCE RANKING (KPI RANKING)! THE FIRST GOAL OF THE STORE IS TO BE RANKED FIRST IN THE NATION IN THE MONTHLY PERFORMANCE RANKING (KPI RANKING)!

We have had two stores win this title in the past, and winning this title has a positive effect on the value of the store and everyone who works there, making them feel more motivated to create an even better store!

Furthermore, the average score for the entire year of undercoverage should be at least 90 points.

We believe that this is an indicator of whether or not we are creating a good store, so we would like to stick to it.

My personal goal is to be promoted to block manager (area manager).

Unlike a store manager, I would like to manage about 10 store managers and be in charge of an area, and I would like to have more responsibility and be involved with more people and deliver sheer happiness to customers and colleagues I work with, which was the axis of my job search!
